Dan Curtis Thompson (He/Him) is an actor, writer, stand up comedian and musician who was born and raised in Belleville, Ontario and currently pays rent in Toronto. After graduating from St. Lawrence College's Music Theatre Performance Program, Dan has been seen on stages across Ontario and Manitoba, including Stirling Festival Theatre where he also was a primary set builder and contributed several original songs to Christmas pantomimes. He was also the artistic director, producer, writer, musical director and actor for Black Rabbit Theatre in Toronto. 

Dan has worked as a professional stand up comedian for the past ten years, and was selected as a finalist in both Absolute Comedy’s “Prove You’re A Comic” Competition, and in the “Brantford Comedy Festival”. Dan is now a roster member with Absolute Comedy and, through them, has been seen performing at Just For Laughs in Toronto. Dan also produces several Toronto comedy shows that consistently sell out including “Comedy Tonight” at Comedy Bar, and “Fresh Start Comedy” at The Social Capital Theatre. Dan is well known for his hosting capabilities and is frequently hired to do so for comedy shows, weddings and corporate events across Ontario.

As a musician, Dan is a proficient guitar player and songwriter, most recently writing and performing two original hour long one act musicals “Christmas Birthdays Suck” at Bad Dog Theatre and “Angst 4 The Memories” at Comedy Bar. Dan also plays piano, electric bass, mandolin and can really fake it on the drums.

Dan is currently in the process of creating a one person stand up comedy/theatre fusion currently titled “Broken Home” about the true story of restoring his grandmother’s old, haunted house, which explores themes of pandemic isolation, family trauma, the fear of failure, among other hilarious topics.
